Never Seduce a Scot by Maya BanksThis story is one of my favorite historicals ever. I LOVE pretty much all of the characters and the storyline. Eveline Armstrong is deaf due to a horse accident and sickness that followed. She is considered “touched.” Graeme Montgomery is the Larid to her family clan’s sworn enemy. The King demands that Eveline and Graeme get married so that his two strongest clans are no longer fighting and forced to sign a blood treaty.

Eveline is a strong woman who hasn’t allowed her deafness to stop her from living life. While she pretends not to understand much of what goes on around her, when she finally is married to Graeme she allows him to see more of the truth of her. She is sweet, knows herself and is loyal. Probably one of my favorite female characters (definitely for historical). Graeme is seriously swoon-worthy. He is strong, and even though he doesn’t originally want the marriage he is always kind to her and willing to give it a shot. His clan was frustrating, but that was honestly part of what made Eveline and Graeme so wonderful. I love how he stood up for her and was her safe place through it all.

This book gives me so many feels. It is well written and takes you into the past. This is a book I have read many times never wanting to put it down, and will read many times more.
