Sebastian “Oz” Osbourne is a star on the Iowa University wrestling team. One day, while studying in the library with some teammates, his friends bet him that he can’t get this “prudish” conservative girl to kiss him. Jameson, said girl, doesn’t have time to deal with this walking talking cliche of a college athlete. She ignores him and continues studying. Oz isn’t used to being rejected and tries to woo her with words.
There were parts about this book I really enjoyed, and parts that left me wanting more or something slightly different. First while reading it I was entertained by the wittiness between the characters and how they were slowly but surely developing this friendship. The writing is good, the story itself is pretty good but the reason this is three hearts instead of four is simply I didn’t feel like I really got to know Jameson. I needed more character development. I was about 3/4 through the book and realized I didn’t know much about her or her motivation. We get to know Oz and I loved him. There are parts where I wish he would have been a little less of a follower and more of a leader, willing to stand up for something or someone. But I am also just going to chalk this up to age and the fact that its an NA novel. I just really wish I would have understood or grown to truly like Jameson more.

Favorite Quote: “ ‘Do you feel that, Jameson?’ he implores breathlessly. ‘Can you feel it beating?’
I can.
‘That’s for you. No one else makes me feel this way; no one has ever made me feel this way. No woman. No coach. No opponent makes my heart race the way.’ ”
