Hannah Wells has a crush on a new student attending Briar U. However, she is not quite up to taking the chance to talk to him. Garrett Graham is captain and star hockey player for the Briar U. He is failing one of his classes and tries to get Hannah to tutor him. After turning him down many times, she finally gives in. A trade. He pretends to date her, so her crush will notice her, and she will tutor him for his makeup exam.
This story is witty and entertaining. I will admit there were parts I was literally yelling at the characters. (Something I tend to do a bit more when reading new adult/ya.) Hannah has had a trauma in the past, and while she doesn’t feel like it is still affecting her, she learns that it does. Garrett and Hannah’s relationship is fun and they become friends before they start dating. The support they show each other and the way that they both just fully understand and know each other is something I truly love about this book. Part of why I was yelling at the book was I was worried about one of the dramas becoming out of control, however once they talked about it, it was simple and easy. For that I am immensely grateful! Also the secondary characters are fun and I can’t wait to read their stories as well. Many parts of the book had me laughing out loud and reading certain parts over and over again.

Favorite Quote: “I burst into the locker room and — Penises! Sweet Jesus. Penises everywhere. Horror slams into me as I register what I’m seeing. Oh God. I’ve stumbled onto a penis convention. Big penises and small penises and fat penises and penis-shaped penises. It doesn’t matter which direction I move my head because everywhere I look I see penises.”
